Random Thing #2
I Said Goodbye To My Shepherd Kaiser On Tuesday

I don’t want to write too much about this because, honestly, I’ll probably cry again. This past week has been incredibly hard.

On Tuesday, I had to say goodbye to my best friend and companion, Kaiser—my 8.5-year-old German Shepherd.

I won’t go into too much detail because it’s still too fresh, but if you’d like to read more, I’ve shared a post in our WWLW Facebook Group post.

But rather than focus on the sadness and how much I miss him, I want to share something Kaiser taught me through all of this😀 

It’s important to be strong.

I know that sounds simple, but read it again.

It’s important to be strong.

For the last year, I had to care for Kaiser in every possible way, and I was grateful I could do it.

I lifted him, carried him, moved him around, helped him with his wheelchair walks, and held him up using his Help ‘Em Up strap. Day in, day out, every day.

And I was able to do it because I was strong.

Being strong gave me more time with him. Being strong let me show up for him when he needed me the most.

And if there’s one thing I’ve truly learned from this loss, it’s this:

Strength isn’t just about the gym.
Strength isn’t just about lifting weights.

Strength is about showing up—for the people (and animals) who need you.

What we do in the gym carries over into life.

So train hard. Build your strength. Because someday, that strength will be needed.

Always remember.

It’s important to be strong.
