The Truth About Core Training (My Story)

I want to share with you a little personal story that changed my life in a good way and also in a very bad way.

Back in 2000, I hurt my back badly on a deadlift.

The crazy part?

It wasn’t because I wasn’t training my core. I did sit-ups, planks, crunches—you name it.

The problem was this:

👉 I was training my core as if it was separate from the rest of my body.

Here’s the truth most people don’t realize:

  • Your core is the linkage between your upper body and lower body.

  • It doesn’t have a rigid structure of its own—it relies on strength, stability, and coordination.

  • Sit-ups and crunches aren’t enough. Your core needs to be trained in a functional, full-body way.

When you train your body as a unit—integrating the core into every workout—you build real-world strength, better lifting performance, and protect yourself from injuries.
