The Kettlebell Swing

If there is one exercise I love to coach and do personally do it’s the Kettlebell swing.
But it didn’t start that way…
I used to HATE the Kettlebell Swing.
It used to hurt my lower back.
I would always get injured (old back injury).
Coming from a BodyBuilding and PowerLifting background I didn’t really “get it”.
And I just thought the Kettlebell Swing was kinda stupid, more like a parlour trick than a valuable exercise.
Boy was I wrong.
Very wrong…
The problem isn’ the Kettlebell Swing.
The problem was HOW you do the Kettlebell swing.
Much like a Deadlift the Kettlebell Swing can be a terrible exercise or a great exercise.
The difference was learning HOW to swing correctly.
I was taught how to swing by some of the best.
Pavel at my Strong First Certification in Utah.
Dan John taught me this as well at the same certification.
Add on top of that hands on coaching by Dr. Stu McGill.
And many others.


Now I LOVE the Kettlebell Swing.
It’s pretty much part of all my training, my coaching and I do this exercise in some way every single day.

But they HAVE to be done correctly.
