5 Tips For Your First PowerLifting Meet

It’s been a very busy week and tonight at my gym the Heavy Weights Barbell Club we are having an in-house PowerLifting Meet and I can’t wait!
While I love all things lifting and coaching, there is a special place in my heart for PowerLifting and Powerlifting Competitions.
Tonight I am coaching 16 lifters, 12 of them are women.
These lifters are a mix of brand new lifters all the way to experienced lifters and it’s going to be a blast.
Loud music, chalk, cheering, the clanging of KG plates, ammonia, PR’s and all the heavy weights!
A PowerLifting meet is an experience like no other (and it’s rather addictive as well lol).
With a mix of new and experienced lifters the new lifters are always very nervous because there is so much to the sport of powerlifting.
When I coach my job is to always make the experience of a PowerLifting meet fun, stress free, enjoyable and simple, especially for new lifters doing their first competition.
Here is a post I wrote yesterday on 5 Tips For Your First PowerLifting Meet to help some of my new lifters so I thought I would share it and I hope you enjoy it.
I will be posting lots of pics and videos to our WWLW and HW Barbell Club instagram pages after the meet so stay tuned and be sure to give both accounts a follow!
Now I am off to get ready to head to my club for a fun night of PowerLifting with my team/friends.
Wishing you a strong weekend.
Coach Rob
BTW would you like to learn more about PowerLifting training and/or competition?
I would love to chat and help you.
Feel free to reply back to this email with more info or fill this out and I will get back to you.
It doesn’t matter if you are brand new to PowerLifting, or maybe you want to compete in 2025.
I am here to help and I love what I do.
One decision can change your training and life, make that decision and I promise you will be glad you did!
