Technique Tuesday October 16

Let's Talk Kettlebells

It’s Technique Tuesday!

Every Tuesday, I'll be sharing different lifting techniques to help enhance your training and results.

My goal is to help you learn more about proper technique to improve your strength and, of course, lift heavier weights.

This week I will be talking Kettlebells

But before we get into Kettlebells check out this beauty pic below.

I picked up the bigger blue Kettlebell last week on FB Marketplace. I am always looking for awesome training gear for my Heavy Weights Gym and home training.

Quality kettlebells are in investment in your training and good bells will last your lifetime.

The difference in these 2 kettlebells are the style of Kettlebell training they are used for.

Cast Iron Kettlebells: Great for general fitness, with varying sizes and thicker handles as the weight increases. Use in “Hard Style” training.

Competition Kettlebells: Uniform size and shape, making them ideal for sport training and precise technique work, especially with high reps.

And here is a little Halloween inspired picture of my beautiful Kettlebells at my gym Heavy Weights.

I LOVE Kettlebell training and I HIGHLY recommend that you learn to use a Kettlebell to improve your training and results.

But let me back up a bit.

Many years ago I used to think Kettlebells were an absolute joke. I thought they were more of a gimmick than anything else.

Boy was I wrong….

4 big things changed my mind, views and understanding of Kettlebells.

1. Coach Dan John
2. Coach Pavel Tsatsouline
3. Stu McGill
4. Strong First KB Certification in Utah years ago

I was invited by Coach Dan John (a friend and mentor) years ago to attend the Strong First SFG Kettlebell Certification in Utah.

This Strong First Kettlebell Cert and learning from Dan, Pavel and Stu made me realize just how much of an incredible training tool a Kettlebell is.

The problem with Kettlebells is many women don’t know how to use them, or they treat Kettlebell training like Dumbbell Training, which it is not.

I will do a more detailed Youtube video soon on my experiences the Strong First SFG seminar and how it changed my life, my training and my coaching.

In the meantime check out these YouTube videos on Kettlebells.

I hope you enjoyed “Technique Tuesday” and wishing you a strong week!
