Meet some of the Women of WWLW
If you’ve ever needed a little proof that it’s never too late to start lifting — or that age, injury, or life’s chaos should stop you from training — I want to introduce you to a few incredible women from our community.
These are real, everyday women who made a decision to start strength training.
They didn’t have years of experience. Most had zero lifting background, busy schedules, kids, careers, and past injuries.
But they showed up.
They trained smart. They stayed consistent.
And they ended up doing extraordinary things.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching women in:
General strength training
Body transformations
Powerlifting, Bikini, Fitness, Strongwoman
And even competitive sports performance
Here are just a few of their stories and results — and why I’m so proud to have been part of their strength journey.
💪 Meet Nancy
Nancy started training with me in her 30’s.
She is a full time mom with 3 boys and as well she works full time with 2 jobs.
I have coached Nancy from general strength training and performance, after that she also competed in PowerLifting, Fitness and Bikini.
Nancy’s training was customized by me for her to be short, intense, challenging and fun to keep in mind her busy lifestyle.
💪 Meet Ruby
Ruby started lifting at 68 years old — and she’s an absolute powerhouse.
But her strength and success didn’t come easy.
When she walked into my gym doors at Heavy Weights at 68 she walked in on crutches.
Her drive, determination and work ethic was incredible. She is also very coachable and always works hard.
She’s a 2x World Powerlifting Champion, Multiple National Champion, Commonwealth Champion, and a record holder in both the Bench Press and Deadlift.
Ruby didn’t just break records — she broke stereotypes.
And at 76 years young she’s just getting stronger!
Ruby’s training was customized by me for her to keep in mind her age, recovery, mobility and more. All while keeping in mind that for strength slow and steady wins the race.



💪 Meet Megan
Megan started training with me in her mid twenties. She was very athletic to start. She wanted to get stronger and improve her overall physique.
After training with me Megan went on to compete in PowerLifting, WeightLifting, Bikini and Fitness.
Megan set a Canadian National Deadlift Record with a massive 190 kg pull at 72 kg bodyweight.
Megan’s training was customized by me for her to be across numerous competitions such as Weightlifting, Bikini, Fitness, PowerLifting and more. As well all her competitions were at a National level.



💪 Meet Alisa
Alisa started lifting in her 40s — and quickly discovered just how strong she could become.
She’s now a 2x World Powerlifting Medalist, a Multiple-Time National Champion, and National Record Holder in both the Bench Press and Deadlift.
She’s proof that age doesn’t define your potential — commitment does.
Alisa’s training was customized by me for her to work with her to get stronger while working with back and hip injuries and accommodations for her job and lifestyle.

💪 Meet Glenda
Glenda began lifting in her 40s and has become a true competitor.
She’s earned a multiple Worlds Medals, multiple National titles, multiple national and provincial records and more, and continues to inspire everyone around her with her passion and consistency in training.
Glenda’s training was customized by me for her to be short, intense, challenging and fun to keep in mind her busy lifestyle with kids, a family, a full time job and frozen shoulder injury that set her back for a year and more.


💪 Meet Peggy
Peggy is a rare hybrid athlete — both a long-distance runner and a competitive powerlifter.
She’s competed in endurance events and on the powerlifting platform, proving that strength and stamina can go hand in hand.
Peggy’s strength training was all customized me to take into account her crazy running volume, injuries, preventing injuries, and not causing her to overtrain while training for so many things.
As well when Peggy started training with me she hard barely any strength training and she also had such bad shoulders it took her months to get a back on her back. But with my coaching, training, guidance and help look at her now! Stronger, leaner and faster than ever!


These women are more than just lifters — they’re leaders, role models, and living proof that strength has no age limit, no perfect starting point, and no expiration date.
None of them started out elite.
They started by walking through the doors at Heavy Weights and picking up a barbell — one lift, one rep, one step at a time.
With consistency, coaching, and community, they’ve achieved things most people only dream of.
