Random Sunday Aug 19
Japan, FB QnA, Deadlifts
Happy Sunday, Coach Rob here and I hope you had a wonderful weekend.
I am just setting down after a great day of walking my German Shepherds, a little outdoor Kettlebell & TRX Workout and some work now with clients and just finished a QnA in our WWLW Facebook Group (more on that keep reading).
Overall a great day!
If you are not familiar with my “Random Sunday” e-mails here’s how it goes.
Each Sunday I pick 3 random things from WWLW or life and I share them here.
Random Thing #1
5 Deadlift Tips for Over 40+ “Masters” Lifters
If you are over 40 and deadlift read this post.
Actually even if you are under 40 these 5 simple deadlift tips will benefit you.
In that picture is my student Ruby Koritarov (aka “The Rubinator”). 76 years strong deadlifting 112.5kg / 248 lbs at IPF PowerLifting worlds two years ago.
Staying strong and getting stronger as we age is not easy (especially after 40/50+).
It’s important to keep your body strong and healthy.
When it comes to lifting, the deadlift is one of the best (and worst) lifts.
It’s also important for life.
Check out this post. It’s worth reading.
Especially the last 2 tips for 40+ lifters.
Random Thing #2
Facebook Group QnA
Tonight in our WWLW Facebook Group (it’s huge and growing fast. It’s such an awesome community) I did a random QnA and I loved it.
I had some great questions such as how often should your change your training program, questions on nutrition, lever lengths in lifting, recovery and much more.
If you want to check it out click HERE to read it, and if you enjoyed it please leave a like.
I will be doing more QnA’s in the future in our FB Group.

Random Thing #3
Coaching the Strongest Female Bench Pressers In The World In Japan Was A VERY Cool Experience!
I will be honest I was tying to think of something for Random Thing #3.
Then I looked up and saw that picture I used in the FB Group QnA and the picture of my student and teammate Ruby so I thought I would share a personal story.
That picture was taken at the IPF Bench Press World Championships back in 2020 I think it was.
It was my first time being a International PowerLifting Coach for Team Canada.
As well I was competing in both the Classic and Equipped Bench Press Competition.
It was a very busy week competing twice and coaching.
I have to say Coaching and Competing with Team Canada at Bench Worlds in Japan was one of the coolest experiences of my life!
I had the pleasure to coach and meet some of the strongest female bench pressers in the world.
What an experience.
I love coaching women for strength and performance, but my main love (and “job”) is coaching women for PowerLifting.
And I truly believe the sport and community of PowerLifting is life changing in many ways on all levels.
If you have ever wondered about PowerLifting training, programming, technique, competing ore more I would love to chat with you and help you,
It doesn't matter if you are brand new and are just thinking about PowerLifting or have experience and wanting to improve.
I am here to help you get better and push your results and comfort zone.
Strength and PowerLifting has changed my life and countless lives of the women I coach both in powerlifting and strength.
If you would like to learn more about PowerLifting training or competition Answer These Questions, it will take you 2-3 minutes and it could literally change your training and life.

I hope you enjoyed “Random Sunday”.
Wishing you a strong week.
