Process Goals vs. Outcome Goals

Last week in my Strong Her in 42 class at my gym Heavy Weights I went over goal setting for their 42 day program.

I talked about how important it is to set goals, and to write them down on paper or in their phones.

But it’s not just goal setting or writing down goals.

It’s goal setting a better way with two types of goal setting.

Most women set goals and they focus too much on the “outcome goals” where as the process goals are really what get you results and change.

Process Goals vs Outcome Goals

Now let's talk about the power of setting process goals vs. outcome goals.

🎯 Outcome Goals: These are the big dreams – losing 10 lbs, hitting a new PR, or fitting into that dress. They give you a clear vision of where you want to be.

🔄 Process Goals: These are the daily actions that will get you there. Focusing on habits like working out 4 times a week, meal prepping every Sunday, or drinking 2 liters of water a day.

✨ Why Process Goals Matter:

1. Consistency: They keep you on track, making every day a step toward your big dream.

2. Motivation: Achieving small, daily goals boosts your confidence and keeps you motivated.

3. Control: You have more control over your actions than outcomes, reducing stress and frustration.

As the old saying goes "focus on the journey, not just the destination".

By focusing on “Process Goals” with an eye on the prize of “Outcome Goals” you get a much more effective way to set your goals and accomplish them.
