Kettlebells and Sandbags

Coach Rob here.

I wanted to do something a little different today and feature one of our amazing Women Who Lift Weights Instagram collaborators: Andrea (@CurlyBells).

But first, I want to talk about her style of training — because honestly, more women should be doing this.

A Different Way to Train (And Why I Love It)

In my gym, I use kettlebells and sandbags with my female clients all the time.
And they love it.

Why? Because this kind of training gives you:

  • A full-body workout

  • Strength + conditioning at the same time

  • Grip strength, stability, and power

  • A fun, challenging style of training that never gets boring

You don’t need a big gym.
You don’t need expensive machines.
You don’t need 15 different pieces of equipment.

A couple of kettlebells and a sandbag can give you some of the best training of your life.

But… there are two things you need to know:

1. Kettlebells require skill.

The movements are technical. You need to learn how to swing, clean, snatch, press, and flow properly.
But once you learn them — the results are incredible.

2. This training is hard.

You can “take it easy” on machines.
Not with kettlebells and sandbags.
They demand effort, control, and grit — but that’s also what makes them so effective.

If you ever feel like your training has gotten stale… open your mind to this style.
Add a session or two into your week.
Trust me — you’ll love it.

Featuring Andrea — WWLW Collaborator

Andrea trains exactly like this — kettlebells, sandbags, and pure strength.

She’s strong, creative, and a perfect example of what Women Who Lift Weights is all about.

And in the photo below, she’s rocking one of our favorite WWLW pieces — the WWLW Empowered Crop Hoodie.

This hoodie has become a community favorite because it's:

  • Soft

  • Comfy

  • Flattering

  • And perfect for warm-ups, cool-downs, or kettlebell sessions like Andrea does

If you love supporting strong women and the WWLW community, you’ll love this piece.

Final Thoughts

I hope this gives you a little inspiration to try a different style of training this week.

Whether you’re using barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, sandbags, or anything else… the goal is always the same:

Lift, get stronger, have fun, and become the best version of yourself.

Thanks for being part of the Women Who Lift Weights community.
I appreciate you more than you know.
