Get Your Hips In Your Deadlift
Try this Kettlebell Swing & Deadlift Combo

Coach Rob here, and I hope your training is going strong.
Friday night in my class was Deadlift Focused Night—my favorite night of the week!
In class, I taught a Hip-Focused Heavy Kettlebell Swing and Paused Deadlift Combo. One of my friends and mentors, Dr. Stu McGill, once shared a quote many years ago when I did a workshop with him in Arizona that really stuck with me.
"Great athletes use their hips, while poor athletes use their backs." -Dr. Stuart McGill

Here's a picture of Dr. Stu McGill and me when I met him in Arizona workshop
Strong hips are imperative for strength, power, safety and lifting heavy weights in the deadlift.
And strong hips start with a strong correct hinge.
Check out my video below on “How To Hip Hinge,” then take a look at the superset we did in my class Friday night at the end of this e-mail.
This combo will really teach you how to use your hips and get your hips in your deadlift.
If you love swings and deadlifts, give this combo a try.
It’s a great way to reinforce the hip hinge pattern with heavy swings and paused deadlifts, which will help you practice power and hip timing.
Your hips and glutes will get a serious workout, and your deadlift will feel more powerful.
Give it a try, and if you do, tag me on Instagram @coachrobertking—I’d love to see it!
Stay strong,
Coach Rob
